Luxury interior design firm co-hosts three must-attend Austin Design Week events
Austin, TX – October 31, 2019 – Scheer & Co., a leader in luxury interior design is co-hosting and curating two special events during Austin Design Week and organizing the closing event, “Designing for Experience,” in partnership with Handsome, an Austin-based digital design agency. Austin Design Week runs from November 4-8, 2019.
“During the week, we will explore what happens when outstanding physical and digital design comes together to create experiences that continually surprise and delight patrons,” comments Killy Scheer, Founder and Principal of Scheer & Co. “We are excited to facilitate intimate conversations with the leaders of two of Austin’s best-known businesses and brands to explore how they have approached human-centered experiences.”
Beginning at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema South Lamar, Scheer & Co. will co-host a conversation with founder Tim League about how his team completely reimagined the movie-going experience. “This event will give us a glimpse into the past, present, and future of Alamo Drafthouse, followed by drinks and snacks at the Highball and a hands-on demonstration League’s vintage 1938 Vandercook letterpress,” comments Scheer. “Attendees will have the opportunity to print a poster designed for the event on the press that will be featured in Alamo’s soon-to-open Manhattan, NY bar, The Press Room.”

“We are heading to Swift’s Attic next, notes Scheer, “Where our team will co-host a moderated discussion with Swift’s Attic founder, C.K. Chin, to talk about how the history, location, and discoveries in the construction process influenced the concept, design, food, and drinks. It’s a fascinating story and I can’t wait to share it with our guests!” Attendees will be treated to a personal tour of the space, food and drink tastings lead by Mr. Chin, who is noted for his innovative, disruptive, and artistic concepts and unique amalgamation of music, food, drink, and space.

“We are partnering with Handsome to host an incredible closing event which is appropriately named “Designing for Experience,” comments Scheer. “We will be at the brand new H-E-B Design Headquarters where the Chief Digital Officer, Jag Bath, will discuss HEB Digital’s recent introductions and we’ll recap the previous two satellite events, and discuss how HEB’s plans and the future of grocery stores. It’s going to be an amazing way to close out the week together!”
